How to Consume Salvia
Salvia divinorum, or “diviner’s sage” as most people call it, is a small leafy plant that has been made into a psychoactive substance much like many illegal drugs.  The difference is that Salvia is a legal high and offers a variety of effects to the mind and body.  The key in experiencing the most out of Salvia is how you consume the product.  Below is a brief overview on the different ways you can consume Salvia and how it will effects your body.

There are two major ways that most people consume Salvia divinorum and that is by smoking or chewing.  Traditionally, Salvia was made into a tea fusion for drinking when indigenous cultures would use the substance for religious or medical purposes.  Today, it is more common to find people smoking or chewing Salvia.

Smoking Salvia
Out of the two common methods of ingestion, smoking is probably the more popular one.  Salvia is smoked by many for its effects on the body.  Salvia is prepared into a paste by drying the leaves of the plant.  The paste is placed into a pipe for smoking.

When Salvia goes through this process, it has a range of concentration levels that are measured in a specific way.  Each measurement tells you the amount of natural leaves used in preparing.  The higher the natural strength, the more potent Salvia is.  If you smoke Salvia and inhale less smoke, the effects will be stronger.

Chewing Salvia
The second method of ingestion is chewing and this also has its own effects on the body.  To chew Salvia, the substance is prepared into a paste.  The only difference between smoking and chewing is that the active ingredient, salvinorin A, is not active when chewed.

You must keep the Salvia product in your mouth in order to absorb the active ingredient.  This will also ensure stronger effects that will last quite a bit longer.

The way you consume Salvia really depends on your preference.  For some, it is more convenient to smoke the product rather than chew.  However, it has been reported that chewing Salvia provides longer effects.
